PS: You can enable 3rd person in tanks/vehicles as well, but I won't list the fix here since I am not sure if you'd even want that ability. Should you have any (and provided, if I am able to give the answer) Repeat step 3 for 4 (making the file Read-only, after you've made and saved the changes)Īnd that's it! You should now have 107 bots playing in equal teams against each other.Ĭontact me here or via private messaging for any further questions, Save the changes you made/close it, after you made the changes listed above, and right-click it to see a list come out and then click the "Properties" tab which is usually all the way down in that right-click menu menu - and then make the file(s) "Read-only" which will save any settings without the game overriding them, then close that file.Ĭ:\Games\Battlefield 2\mods\fh2\settings (this is my PC's specific directory, where the game/mod is located/installed)Īnd change the following values to these amounts:ĥ. tCoopBotDifficulty 80 ( the difficulty of the bots, over 80 they become similar in skill akin to aim-bots)ģ. tCoopBotCount 107 ( 108 "players" set to maximum above, so use only 107 bots per example if you play solo) tCoopBotRatio 50 ( makes sure sides are equally populated) Unless you want to open a 3D editing program, grab the BF2 Editor and create 3D. There is no way to open more map sizes without using a mod that utilizes these navmeshes created for the larger area maps. tTeamRatio 100 ( makes sure sides are equally populated) Bots navigate maps using 3D meshes called a 'navmesh.' The default game only came with them for the 16 player sizes, and not even all the maps. tSoldierFF 0 ( the following 5 lines disable team friendly fire) tTicketRatio 1000 ( it's the amount of soldiers lives/tickets per match) tSpawnTime 10 ( respawn timer, 10 seconds is time enough to look around after death - this value is only for the player, could also set it to 1 second) tMaxPlayers 108 ( to tell the game that 108 "players" are allowed) Open the file called "n", and change the following values/lines to these amounts: If there is a profile named 0002, edit that file as well as the 0001 file as shown in the 2nd step:Ĭ:\Users\YOURUSER/PCNAME\Documents\Forgottenhp 2\Profiles\0002Ģ. But you might as well go with 107 bots which would mean that the fire teams are completely filled up (squads), 9 teams of 6 bots per team (which you can command each one separately via the commander radio, when you apply for the commander seat via the in-game menu and they will somehow, with variable degrees of success, try to follow those orders - it really depends on the map and the navigation meshing/pathfinding):Ĭ:\Users\YOURUSER/PCNAME\Documents\Forgottenhp 2\Profiles\0001ġb. Up to 100 bots is reasonable, if you have a decent CPU. I might release the extra vehicles tweaks as a side mod for the game).īut I find that when you increase the number of bots without making the server files read-only, the game becomes a bit glitchy, and that the game tends to crash way more often. *(Dedicated shouldn't be necessary unless you want to have shortucts for servers for all your mods that you can just double click and not have to worry about changing the settings each time.If you use the Forgotten Hope 2 launcher and check the launcher options you should be able to set the bot amount to any number you want (I sometimes play with 200+ bots alongside triple the amount of vehicles - with no respawn waiting time for lives/tickets and vehicles, it will lag like hell but it looks so freaking awesome and chaotic when it all clashes, especially on maps with good AI navigation meshing/pathfinding. You can also try checking Battlefield SinglePlayer site for more custom offline maps. Update: There is now a BF2 64-Player Maps Mod you can try to allow you to use the larger maps in single player. Thirdly, if you want more bots in your LAN game, here is detailed documentation on adjusting bots. So I would suggest we are stuck with the smaller maps in singleplayer, and check the In-Game Settings section for other ways to play the large maps. There's tons of info on BF2 dedicated servers available online, but if you'd like a run down on it, let me know.* OR, the more customizable but also a bit more complex method, use a dedicated server. Now to actually play the maps on LAN, you have to either use "create custom game" in the multiplayer menu and adjust your settings as you want them and start the round, then who ever is playing with you via LAN can just has to go to Multiplayer>connect to IP>enter the IP of the host's (you) machine. However, there are some that just don't support CoOp at all, I've only had a few maps across 5 mods that don't. I use BF2ALL64.Ī lot of other mods that have custom maps usually support 32 and 64 sizes by default, such as AIX2, ZCF2, etc. For that, you need a mod that unlocks higher sizes for CoOp. But I dont know where from setting to change it. I want to add more players, like 16 or 32 (like in game BF1942). Every time I only started with 8 player vs 8, very boring. Firstly, if you're talking about vanilla BF2, it doesn't support maps over size 16 in CoOp. I dont know where to change of players in single player maps.
